Hi! I'm Jen.

I made all the mistakes so you don't have to.
(you're welcome)

When I launched my business in 2012, I could have written all the things I knew about starting a business on a post-it note...and had room left over for my grocery list.

Sure, while most little girls were playing with dolls, my sister and I were pretending to be business owners (doesn’t every 9-year-old play “accounting office”? ), but those skills didn’t exactly transfer to real life. And besides, the internet didn’t even exist back then, so I was in uncharted territory.

Here's what I did know in 2012

We were living in a high-cost-of-living area, and my husband’s government employee salary just wasn’t cutting it, but I didn’t want to go back to the 9-6 grind, sit in traffic, and give all my money to daycare. Thanks, but no thanks. I wanted something fun. Something flexible. Something for me.

So when people told me I should be a wardrobe stylist, I thought, “Why not? What’s the worst that could happen?”.

In one weekend, with $100, and no clue what I was doing, I started my business. I had some early successes, but I struggled, too.

I made mistakes. A lot of mistakes. Here are a few highlights:

Those are just a few, and I can laugh about them now.

The good news is that I figured it out. I learned along the way

I improved

my skills, my processes, and my systems.

I learned how to charge the right amount and when to increase my prices. I learned how to market myself and escape the crushing feast-or-famine cycle so many service-based business owners go through. I learned how to make a website I was proud of.

I turned a $100 investment into a $100,000/year business.

I’m sharing this because I want you to know I’ve been there, and that I get it. And if I could do it with no experience and no email list, you can do it, too! Imagine how successful you could be if you weren’t making these costly, painful mistakes, and instead started with an actual plan and support.

Can I brag about myself for just a second? My business coach once told me that my superpower is experiencing challenging things and then teaching them in a way that’s easy to understand and helps people believe they can be successful.  It’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me. And you know what? It’s true. That’s my gift.

And, it's why I started The Style Network.

I want women just like you to build thriving businesses that give you the financial freedom and sense of accomplishment that mine gives me. I want you to believe you are capable of marketing yourself and getting as many clients as you want to have. I want you to know that creating a website can’t hold you back because creating that website, like everything else in business, is figureoutable.

The Style Network combines my decades of experience as a stylist, my journey to build a successful business, my background as a corporate trainer, my love of helping women succeed, and my superpower…breaking all the hard stuff into understandable, doable tasks that allow you to step out of fear and into your dream business
